What is causing my freezer to warm up and then cool back down?

It looks like the thermostat or the timer. Call up the company again and ask them to repair it for you.

The service call should be under warranty, I would recommend calling the service company again and let them know it's still not operating correctly. If this is an older appliance, perhaps the coils in the back need cleaning. Is there anything inside the freezer or refrigerator areas that is blocking air circulation?

I would check with the company, I don't think that a freezer is supose to be doing those things, maybe it has a faulty part that they are liable to repair/replace.

The symptoms described seems to be a faulty thermostat or a timer. Even after replacement of thermostat and timer, if still the problem persists, there is a chance for faulty thermostat or timer replaced. There is also a chance for coolant gas leakage. It is advisory to check the coolant gas pressure also.
