What are the best exercises to build up pecs?

I have free weights and a pull-up bar at home.

Free weights and using a pull up bar are great. But one of the best ways to build up your pectoral muscles is to do pushups. Do series of ten and increase daily.

The best way to build up the pectorals (chest muscles) is by doing fly exercises with dumbbells. Flies work the pectorals more directly than bench presses do and are more challenging. You can also use less weight to get a very vigorous workout. Don't leave out the bench press, but focus more on flies instead.

The best exercise is the dumbbell Bench Press - like a normal Bench Press, but with dumbbells. It has to be done through a full range of motion (from your armpits to full extension). Dumbbell flys area good isolation exercise as well. Those two will get you quite far.

You should vary your routine a bit for best results, but some exercises with free weights that build pecs include flies and bench presses.
