It's a satellite radio that can work with any major vehicle. And, yes, like most satellite systems it is considered an accessory.

The Sirius Starmate is not an accessory it is a receiver for Sirius Satellite radio. It comes in a package with instructions on how to install it in your car and all the necessary parts to make it work like an antenna and a mounting device. Once installed you set up service with sirius and you are done.
