When I receive an e-mail with a works 6. 0 word processor attachment or I try to open a file saved on my computer they will not open, the computer just stops working then when I go to ctrl/alt/delete there is either nothing beside Microsoft Works Word Processor it says "not responding"?

Did you receive that email from an anonymous person? If yes, there is a big chance that it is a fake file or a virus, If not a virus, maybe the file that is attached is corrupted so the Word Processor can't open the file.

When the Microsoft Works 6. 0 Word Processor does not work, you can use Microsoft Office 2003 or 2007. These are able to import files made in Microsoft Works 6.0

You could either be opening a bad file that has a virus in it, which is destroying your computer, or your version of works 6.0 isn't compatible. Another option is simply attempting to open the file, but will need a few seconds to a few minutes.

Make sure that you close ALL other programs before opening this file, these typically take alot of RAM and processing power. If this does not help, restart the computer and try again.

This type of problem may be happen due to virus. You open file may be contains a virus. To avoid this type of problem we can use the following methods. We want to close all other program while open those types of file. By this method we avoid the damage of RAM and processer from virus. Or we restart system.

It is a serious problem. There are various reasons for it. Either there is problem or not properly send ny user or there might have virus in system
