The easiest way to identify a Harley is to close your eyes and open your ears. The loud thudding noise of a Harley is very distinctive and annoying. Harley's are the loudest motorcycles available. If that fails, look at the label and it should say Harley Davidson.

You should either consult a Harley specialist or purchase a Harley Davidson identification guide somewhere. There are just so many different models it would be difficult to identify it otherwise.

Harley Davidsons are larger bikes made for travel on the highway with a unique shape and "chopper" style body. The motorcycle will have the Harley Davidson insignia on it and will have the Harley engine which fires in intervals giving the bike a unique sound when running. If yoy are still having identification troubles you can look up the vin.

Listen to a certain sound a Harley makes it will be deep and loud if you hear it once you will always recognize it.
