Algae grows quick in the bottom a plaster pool. If not cleaned daily or if you do not have the correct amount of chloride/chemicals in your pool it will start to get slimy at the bottom. Always check the php levels to be sure your pool has enough chemicals that are required.

Algae is the most probable culprit. It could also just be settled particulates. Either way a good shock treatment followed by vacuuming should get rid of it.

Algae can be brought into pools through a variety of ways. Algae can grow and coat the lining of the pool resulting in a green slimy covering of the pool.

The bottom of a plaster pool might be slimy due to the presence of algae. However, not all the time it is due to algae. Pink slime which is bacterial can be equally responsible.

These types of pools usually do not have any chemicals in it like clorine so the plain water if it is just sitting there for a while develops an algae which becomes slimy since the watre is not treated and will only get worse until the water turns green and slimy.

this can be caused by two thing's in your pool alot of chlorine or algae. some time's people paint plaster pool's and use basic pool paint and sealer without slip gaurd or other chemical's added to resist slipping or the slimy fealing. some times it can also be a pump not filtering proper leaving small particles to settle.
