If the yellow color is staining on the pool or if yellow water is the problem, it's mostly likely the hardness of the water (presence of iron, calcium, magnesium, etc). You may be able to remove some of this by filtering the water before putting it in the pool.

You didn't run it trough a filter to take out the rust in the water. If you have a pool cover and you can keep the water perfectly still, the rust will settle to the bottom and then you can vaccume it out. Otherwise, just replace the water with fresh water.

The reason why your pool is yellow is because water is a easily survival spot for fungus and other micro bacteria to harvest in. The discoloration of the pool comes from these bacterias growing. In order to restore the color, you should visit your local pool store for safe cleaning chemicals

It could be the plaster, and you shouldn't put well water into your pool without chlorine. Chlorine kills off any bacteria found in your water. Have a specialist inspect it.

It is more than likely a form of algae or a chemical reaction between the water and the new plaster. Treat it with a high dose of bleach or chlorine.

The yellow could be because of minerals that are present in your water from your well causing discoloration or it could be due to a problem with algae.
