What are these strange swimming bugs that I have found in my unclean swimming pool?

I have found these really strange bugs in my ground pool. The pool got really bad with algae, and we drained it, and we found these really weird bugs that are about an inch to an inch and a half with 3 little legs on each side.

These are most likely backswimmers. They thrive on algae so the best way to get rid of them is to make sure your swimming pool is cleaned on a regular basis. They can and will bite and it is extremly painful. They are hard to catch and hard to kill.

Well, this may a backswimmer bug that is usually found in pools that are not thoroughly sanitized. Usually when algae is found in pools, a backswimmer bug is in it with them. To prevent this from happening, always clean your pools and add chlorine to it every now and then to keep it sanitary.
