The cat may have an upper respiratory infection, especially if it has been around any other cats because this is highly contagious. A herpes type virus can also cause a colored discharge from a cats eyes. And then of course there are the typical colds and allergies that a cat can also have.

Could be an eye infection or a respiratory infection. You should take your cat to a vet for a checkup to get a proper diagnosis.

It sounds like your cat has an eye cold or maybe allergies. I would suggest giving him/her some benadryl. You can just take the capsule and empty it into their cat food. Unless you are brave enough to try and put it all the way in the back of their throat.

Many things can cause a runny eye in cats, most are not serious, but you should still consult you vet. Conjunctivitis is the most common, just an infect that is easily treated. It could also be that it has a common cold or a type of allergy. But it could always be some thing more serious. See you vet.
