Tear ducts that produce excessive amounts of tears, or "runny eyes," can be attributed to many factors. These factors could include airborne allergens such as pollen or spores or even a cosmetic product like mascara or makeup remover. Sometimes a blocked tear duct may result in excess tearing. This is not a normal condition and a physician should be consulted.
