The best sculptors came from the Italian High Renaissance. They rediscovered the golden mean and produced scultures with perfect proportions. michelangelo is the best known sculptor for proportion, but my favorite is Bernini. Bernini's sculptures show not only excellent proportion, but they also show movement and action. Compair there interpretations of David to see what I mean.
