Where is the coolant temperature sender located on an F-150?

I need to check the coolant temperature sender for a leak and to ensure it is not damaged but can not locate it.

well it depends on what engine you have in the truck. if it is a 5.0 or 5.8 the temp sensor should be in the front of the intake where the coolant passage goes through it. if its the straight 6 it is in the head

Without knowing the year and engine it is hard for me to say. Typically it is on top of the engine somewhere but not always. Look online for more info.

Best way to located a sender unit is do a web search or have a tear down and rebuilt manual. Sometime this unit can be found near the radiator or near the intake manifold where the fluid is injected (Thermostat Housing) into the engine.

It is located somewhere either on top or closer in a different spot near the engine. It could also be located radiator or intake manifold where fluid is injected into engine.

This sender is normally located somewhere near the engine on this type of truck. You can put more liquid into this type of device to make it work the way you want it.
