Where is the engine coolant temperature sensor located on my Camry?

All your sensors are located under the hood. There are three different sensors to look for. There is the Temp Gauge, The gauge Sensor and then the Cooling Sensor. The Temp Gauge is under the timing belt, the gauge sensor is right behind the alternator and the cooling sensor is between the green and brown wires.

The engine coolant temperature sensor is located underneath the hood, near the radiator hose. Depending on the year of the vehicle, it should be near the lower portion of where the radiator hose connects.

The engine coolant temperature sensor on the toyota camry is located on the intake manifold at the end of the engine near to the timing belt, or passenger side shock tower. There is a single Yellow wire with green stripe. This is also called temp gauge sender. There are two more sensors in teh same car.

Coolant or antifreeze temperature sending units are usually located in or near the thermostat on most vehicles. Also sometimes in the intake manifold itself.

If there isn't a designated gauge on the dash, it most likely is in the menu settings where the odometer and trip gauge is. Try going through that menu until you get to the right temperature setting.

there are three diffrent sensors.. need to know which one you are looking for? there is a temp gauge and gauge sender and last but not least fan cooling sender. temp gauge is located near the timing belt. gauge sender located near the alternator the last between green and brown wires.

Pop the hood and locate the radiator fluid. The engine cooland temp sensor is located just to the right of it, with a bright red cap. CAUTION: Don't undo the cap until the car has cooled off.

This sensor is located on the inside of the Camry hood. This placement has made the temperature readings very unreliable. Keep watching for steam.
