I believe that it's okay to use food coloring to dye a rabbit's fur. Other types of dye (hair dye, clothing dye, etc) are not made to be ingested, and could be harmful to the rabbit if they licked it. However, some animals are more sensitive to others, so you can't be sure even food coloring is safe!

Frankly, it's a bad idea. It might be possible to get "rabbit safe" dye like food coloring or such, but you shouldn't even bathe a bunny normally because they freak out over the soaking.

I do not think it is safe. Your rabbit could have serious health problems if the dye contains harsh chemicals. If you still want to do this, I would contact a vet to find some pet-healthy dyes. Plus you don't want the dye to rub off on your furniture and yourself.

Most rabbits are not fond of water and the stress could kill them. I don't think it is safe and it certainly is not necessary.

You should not dye your rabbit! Rabbits do not like to be wet and that could be dangerous to them.

I would advise AGAINST dyeing any animal. Most dyes are not approved for animals and there isn't much known about if it's safe or not. Maybe instead of dying him get him a dog sweater or something.
