The dangers are an allergic reaction (rare) or a bad color (more common). Don't choose drastic color changes when doing at home color, and use a mirror that lets you see the back of your head (or better yet, find a friend to help). Follow all printed directions!

Hair dyes have definitely gotten less dangerous, but wear the gloves provided! you do not want to stain yr hands, wear an older shirt, and follow instructions on the box

I've been doing it for years, and never had a problem. That said there can be issues with it. Make sure you test the dye on a small part of your skin to make sure it's not going to bother you. Also, start with semi-perminante dyes. They aren't as harsh and are less harmful to your hair.

All of the tips you need are going to be on the back of the hair dye box. Just follow the directions carefully. Dont get it on your skin/eyes!
