What could be the cause of my fish suddenly dyeing?

This can happen due to a lot of reasons. The most common being Ph problems in the water or some type of infection. Change the water in the tank and let it sit before getting more fish.

Fish are sometimes tricky. Were these new fish? Fish that are sick already and introduced to a new environment tend to die off from the compounded stress. Did you recently clean the tank? Fish are extremely sensitive to cleaning residues. Did you dechlorinate the water? Most fish do best in water that's been sitting out for at least a day.

Some of the most common reasons fish die includes being attacked/eaten by other fish, having overgrowth of bacteria in the fish tank and over or under feeding.

There could be a disease in your tank such as ick, this will be little white spots on the fish and can be treated with some drops from your pet store. Make sure that the filtration system is working properly and the tank is kept clean as well.

Well fish don't really have that long of a life span. You can check to see if the water is not dirty or the chemicals aren't wrong.

Fish can die suddenly at any time. Could be from being in bad water. Could be a change in temperature of the water or the bowl size could be wrong.
