Use the Redken shampoo that is good for split ends, it works the same as the other shampoos specializing in "breakage". You'll have to purchase it at a style shop though.

Redken "Extreme" is my favorite of their products. It is specifically formulated to repair damaged hair and is especially recommended for people with longer hair.

I find that the Redken Product to use that helps with hair breakage, and damaged hair is Redken Extreme Shampoo and conditioner.
