What kinds of things could trigger the maintenance required light in my Honda?

There are a number of things that could trigger the maintenance light to come on in a Honda. Mine would come on because the gas cap wasn't on tight enough. The worst was when my transmission went out. The oil needing to be changed could also affect the maintenance light. Take it to a mechanic immediately.
