If a bathroom vanity light fixtrues requires four bulbs with a maximum of 100 watts total, how many watts can each light be and it still be safe?

25 watt bulbs is the easy answer. The newer florescent bulbs offer the same output as 60 watts but use less than 15 watts per bulb.

If you are not to exceed 100 watts, then you could only use four 25 watt bulbs. I would read the packaging again though as this seems pretty light.
