Moving around in town (usually by car) while scanning with a notebook for not well secured wireless networks with the intention of exploiting those insecure configurations.

Wardriving refer to the act of driving around in a car with a laptop trying to locate a wireless signal. It originated back when wireless networks were getting very popular and a lot of the were unprotected. Sometime people would actually record these locations and post them online.
