What could be the cause of limited connection for my internet connection.

The first issue can be from your internet provider. If it offers limited internet connection...there you have it. Second, on wireless network devices internet connection speed is directly affected by range and by the wireless card itself. Search the internet for your specific network card to see what exactly is its maximum speed.

Either you connection is messed up or your hardware has an issue. Try setting your router, modem, and networking card. If that does not help then contact you ISP and see if there is a problem with you connection.

Hello, My problems started almost a week ago with a virus. I saw that I had some updates that needed to be installed and so installed them.

Your internet connection is due to technical fault in fiber optics or V-sat. You do not have good modem to increase down load speed. So, I recommend you to contact internet provider. However, fiber-optics problem cannot be solved. But, wireless connection can be solved by your internet provider. I hope you can fix your internet connection now easily than before.
