Use 1% Hydrocortisone cream 4x's per day to reduce itching. Keep in refrigerator, feels better applied cold. If itching persist, take Benadryl every 6 hours. Avoid scratching, cut fingernails short. Can also soak in cold water or massage with an ice cube as often as necessary to help reduce itching/oozing.

You can take an anti poison remedy. Get it from the health food store. Use calamine lotion. There is no reason to go to the Dr. unless it is too painful.

At one time you could get a shot to get rid of poison oak but it's no longer available. You can get over the counter medications without a doctor. Usually you just have to keep the area dry and don't scratch.
