For people with foot pain, the traditional methods they have had for relief have been cortisone injections and orthotics. A more targeted and longer lasting treatment, cryosurgery, is available. This treatment involves injecting the area with nitrous oxide gas to freeze it, thereby killing the painful nerve tissue.

Cryosurgery is a procedure where extremely cold temperatures are used to destroy selective nerve endings. It is commonly used with Nitrous Oxide and uses high pressure between the inner and outer tubes of the opening of the apparatus and reduces the temperature of the area drastically. It is done in two to three minute cycles and is not very invasive

Well basically the whole procedure should take you about 15 to 20 minutes at the most. And there are no stitches involved because it is more of an anaesthetic procedure. They will use a machine to cut off or numb the nerve endings in the foot. It is not a painful procedure.

Cryosurgery is a minimally invasive surgery that is a 15 minute in-office procedure that consists of a tiny incision that uses a probe to freeze tissue. Stitches are not even required.

It's when the podiatrist makes a small cut into your foot then sticks a probe into your foot and freezes the damage part of your foot.

Basically cryosurgery involves applying excessive cold to the foot.Just imagine put the ice at the foot. For example foot pain caused by condition called plantar fascitis, cold sensation will help to reduce inflammation and the pain.
