This is a "marker", or a substance produced because of cancer, and is most sensitive in pancreatic cancer diagnosis. CA 19-19 is used to evaluate how a patient is responding to cancer treatment and can also differentiate between types of cancer, in this case most used for bile duct or pancreatic cancers. It's a simple blood draw, and not diagnostic.
