The best flea shampoo in my opinion is the product put out by Sulfodene called Scratchex Flea and Tick Shampoo as it has no heavy perfume odor, it works well to remove fleas and seems to have a residual effect from the permethrin insecticide. Better than a flea shampoo though is using a product such as Frontline.

There are a variety of products available. Depending on the age and breed of your dog, it is important to make sure the product you choose is safe. Some products can cause severe reactions from seizures to death. Contacting your veterinarian is recommend as they can provide safe alternatives.

Frontline is the manufacturer of the best flea treatments on the market. They sell flea shampoos, and they also make a monthly treatment that you can easily apply to the top of your dog's coat to prevent future flea infestations from occurring. Frontline's products are also convenient because they are relatively inexpensive.

I have found that Adams flea and tick has worked best for my dogs. All dogs are different though, so you may have to investigate to find what's best.

There are so many, and they all work, but there are other issues. Shampooing alone won't do it, your house will need to be treated as well.

Dawn dish washing liquid is very good for fleas. Try and find the regular Dawn, not the ultra. Don't use it excessively, it can dry out the dogs natural oils.
