Depending on the stage of this cancer, surgery is the preferred method. There are five stages and the first two stages can be treated this way very moderately but advance stages may require more aggressive treatments.

Most of the time a doctor will prescribe you some medicine to see if that will help reduce the size of the tumor, then they will order a biopsy, after that most of the time it is removed.

Mast Cell Tumors are treated by chemo injections to reduce the size of the tumor. Several treatment might become necessary. In addition to the chemo treatments, radation could prove to be benificial in treatments of this type of tumor. Reducion reduces the complications involved in removing tumors, ie. infecions, and damage surrounding organ tissue.

Mast cell tumors are now being treated in several universities and hospitals with limited radiation treatments. These days depending on the location of the cells, implants are being used to deliver regulated amounts of radiation without leaving your home.
