Aside from a column replacement, you will also need some way of supporting the porch roof while you are replacing the column. Not only will this require a number of 2x4s but also you may need a jack so that you can get the weight off the old column. This repair should be made sooner before the porch roof collapses.

Ensure the column is cosmetic and not load bearing before you remove it. Then remove the column using a saw. Take measurements of the existing column and purchase from your local merchant a replacement column. Fix the new column securely to the porch using a batten and screws. Protect the wood with stain, varnish or paint.
