A trout lily is a low growing wildflower that blooms in the spring. It has speckled leaves, which some thing resemble the patterning on a trout, hence the name. It is also sometimes called an "Adder's Tongue."
Trout lily is a yellow flower with a pair of purple-brown mottled leaves. It blooms anywhere from March to May. Trout lilies grow in moist, fertile woods.
