Running alot to get good endurance and lifting weights to add bulk.. Hockey is a very hard sport in this area, the better endurance the better player will be. Also adding muscle is crucial because hockey is such a physical sport. This will be key to not getting knocked off the puck and knocking people off the puck.

There are a number including abdominal training, circuit training, and endurance training. A running program is also good, and a weights program can help.

You need players with speed and athleticism. You need some players who are tall and can shoot the ball well. You need fast players who can pass the ball well.

Running through the mountains in winter is a great way to keep your legs ready for hockey season. From the uphill routes and cold weather, you will never feel as if you left the rink. Want to keep your upper body ready assign yourself to a daily workout in the gym with the air conditioner low.

A good off ice workout regimen for hockey is to find a gym that trains hockey players. If you live in an area where this is unavailable there are many books you could buy or rent at the library that would teach you this.

Off the ice, hockey players must work on the strength in their legs and core. They should be lifting weights and running a lot to stay in great cardiovascular shape as well.
