What are some good weightlifting workouts for weak knees?

I have weak knees and need weightlifting workout ideas.

If you have weak knees, you should not use weights at the beginning. A good non-weight for knees would be squatting. First off, squat without using any weights or bars, just your weight alone. Then gradually after you are used to it, then start with light weights and move up.

I would stick to strictly machine workouts (no free weight squats, or anything else for legs). Leg extension, hamstring curls would be good.
