The average shift on ice for a hockey player can average 30 seconds to a minute and 30 seconds. Teams typically employ 4 lines of both wingers and defensemen. Therefore, in a 60 minute game, each line typically plays 15 to 20 shifts, depending on power play and short handed situations.

Well if you mean for the entire game, then the top players on your team average anywhere from 20-25 mins, the other players average around 8-12 mins depending on skill.

In the National Hockey League, the average ice time for a player is approximately 15 minutes of ice time a game. The "superstars" usually play around 24-30 minutes a game (which of course is half of the game), and the lesser known players usually get approximately 7-10 minutes a game.

This depends on the position being played. Goalies typically play the entire game or 60 minutes. If a team has three or four lines that play consistently, a player should play around 25-30 minutes per game. It may depend on the depth of team. High school and college hockey players may play more, since they'll play both offense and defense.
