If one parent works and the other doesn't, then the child should stay with the one that doesn't. If both parents work, every other weekend with the child would be fair.

If your ex spouse isn't harmful to the child a fifty fifty custody settlement is fair. It's going to be hard on your kids because they are being shuffled around a lot so opt for a schedule that doesn't make them switch homes several times a week.

A fair settlement is one where the parents have joint custody and the parents each spend around 50% of the time with the child and have an equitable agreement.

As long as both parents can get along and really want to spend time with the children, then joint custody is fair.

That is going to be dependent on many things, for example if both husband and wife worked, and the annual income of both parties as well as where you live and what the custody arrangements are, who has the child or children most the time.
