What can you tell me about a 350 Chevy Ping?

I have noticed a pinging in my Chevy what could be causing it?

Commonly pinging is the pre-detonation of fuel on the compression stroke of the piston. The engine timing could be too far advanced and/or you need higher octane fuel.

It sounds like your vehicle might be having an issue with detonation. Make sure your timing is properly set and you are running the correct octane of gas. IF this doesn't help you may want to consult a professional mechanic.

Typically one starts by upgrading the quality of fuel when a pinging is noticed. If that doesn't solve the issue try verying the timing
