First you need to find out what is causing the bald spots. If your cat has fleas it could be a flea allergy. Your cat could have a skin infection that needs to be treated that started from something like a sore or cut. Or your cat could have an allergy to something that is causing the bald spots.

These are most often hot spots or another type of allergic reaction; most vets are able to quickly give your cat a shot or oral medicine that will stop these spots from itching and burning, and then your cat will usually stop scratching so much and making the hair fall out.

In seeing that my cat has a bare spot, I should first take him to the vet. It could be that he has a bad flea infestation or tapeworm. In either case, this is something that should not be ignored!
