The basic you are looking for is if the dog is no longer eating properly. Even if the dog is just laying in the yard and not drinking water or throwing up all the food that he has eaten. Look in his poo. If there is any blood is also a good sign.

If you suspect poison you need to take the animal to the vet ASAP. With poison the dog will drool, vomit, and act very sick.

Your dog may be vomiting and act lethargic. He also may appear very thirsty but not interested in food. In serious cases, your dog may be stumbling and the eyes will not focus. Get your dog to the vet as quickly as possible.

Vomiting, lethargy, diarrhea, drinking a lot of water, etc. If you suspect your dog was poisoned by your neighbor I recommend you call your veterinarian IMMEDIATELY. You may also want to consider filing a police report.

They will get extremely ill, lethargic, vomiting, diarrhea, The may even drink lots and lots of water. Urine may turn extremely dark. They will not move around very much at all. The only true way to tell is to take the dog to the vet and get blood work done to be sure.
