What are the smallest insects?

Actually the smallest insects are called Fairyflies. They are tiny wasps that live in Costa Rica and central America and can only be seen with the help of a microscope. They are parasitic and lay their eggs on beetles, flies, etc. Most are only .5 to 1mm in length which is 0.008 inch!

The smallest insect are the true flies and springtails. There is also the fairyflies. There is one from Guadalupe that holds the record for the smallest insect and that is Megaphragma Caribea. These little insects are tough to get rid of. There is a way but it doesn't always work.
