People with advanced degrees in education generally work in some form of education, including corporate training, developing software training materials or consulting as a life coach. There is far more education that goes on outside a classroom than in one.

Why not try working for a textbook publisher? Publishers are often looking for people who specialize in education and can help modify textbook content and update textbooks periodically. Another idea is to work with the companies that create standardized tests. Both jobs require knowledge in a variety of areas, but you will not be in a classroom.

For those with experience in education who do not want to work within the field, a career in entertainment is a possible alternative. Entertainment companies who produce movies, television shows, books, and toys for a variety of ages are always looking for people with child development knowledge.
