Assemblages are works of three-dimensional works of art created from "found objects." They differ from art collages (from the French word college-- to glue) in that collages are primarily two-dimensional works of art.
Art collages are more like 2 demnsional works of art as where assemblages are 2D and 3D works of art. Assemblages typically require assembling things together via a glue or something similar and are typically mixed media
