You could take a course at your local community college. Sometimes they will have a French I, II, and so forth. They'll start with the basics and build up so you become fluent in French.

Any other romance language is easier to write than French. French grammar is the utmost complicated of all. Even native French speakers can't get it right. Learn Italian!
