There are multiple sizes of "Aida" cloth for cross-stitch. They are 11-count, 14-count, 16-count and 18-count. The count refers to the number of holes per inch in the fabric. The smaller the number the bigger the holes and the larger your finished design will be. The larger the number the smaller the holes and the smaller your finished design.

Aida is a fabric used in cross stitch. Usually the sizes are given in a "stitches per inch" format. Usual sizes are 7,10,11,12,14,and 18 stitches per inch. This fabric has a distinct weave to it that allows for easy counting and consistant stitch size. Each stitch is made over a square that is woven into the fabric.
