Kois grow to be relatively large, it would be best if you had either an extremely large aquarium or pond to place the koi in. Maybe consider a smaller fish.

Koi fish can get up to 2 feet long or more with the right space care and conditions. They are only suited for a very large aquarium of 500 gallons or more. But they can be kept briefly as juveniles in a smaller tank. They should be kept in a pond because they get so large.

The size of the koi depend on the size of the tank. A general rule for koi is 2 gallons of water per inch of fish.

This all depends on the size of your aquarium. Koi are not usually considered to be good fish to keep in an aquarium, since they prefer larger outdoor environments.

Koi like goldfish will grow to the size of the aquarium they are contained in. Since they can be costly, start small and enjoy their growth.
