Should I worry that my nursing cat is sneezing?

If she is sneezing, sounds congested, or has mucus in her eyes, she probably has an upper respiratory infection. This is highly contagious and her kittens will probably get it. Treatment by a vet is essential and consists of antibiotics for mother and kittens. Call your vet and get the antibiotics; vets don't want this illness in their office.

Sneezing in cats might be due to infection in respiratory system or any foreign body deposited in the nasal way through. If sneezing is persistent, consult the vet straightaway.

If the cat sneezes only occasionally, I would not worry too much. However, if the cat has a lot of mucous discharge from its nose when it sneezes, or eyes that seem to be seeping liquid, it could be a sign that your cat has feline herpes.

If the allergy like sneezing is severe then it must be taken care. Your cat must be injected by antiallergy injections which can lead to drop in allergy. Do not feed cold foods to your cat. Milk given must be with little warm which the cat enjoys to drink. Do not take your cat out.
