Is one set workout effective?

I mean doing the same workout every time.

One set workout will initially be effective, but after a while, usually a few weeks, the body adapts to the new routine and you will see fewer benefits from the routine. This is called "hitting the wall." Changing up your routine every few weeks is the best way to avoid this.

In certain ways, yes. And it depends on the workout. Usually, one set routine does not get the full spectrum of working out the entire body and all the core muscles. It is possible to find a well rounded workout, however. And even if it's not well-rounded, at least those muscles will be strong.

Not really. The best thing to do is do things that are progressively harder. As an example, if you do 30 set-ups one time, the next time, try doing 34.
