You can increase your vertical jump by strengthening your core, using Pilates, weights or other core training workouts. Also, run, run run! Run to mid court, back to the base, run to center court, back to the base, etc. That will help you gain speed and agility on the court. Using a jump rope can also help.

Work on those legs and stamina! Run up and down stairs, or put some weights into a backpack and go for a jog. My other favorite, is to stand on my bottom step with the fronts of my feet on the step, and extend up and then back down again. then repeat as much as you can.

A good volleyball player should have strong legs, a strong core (abs and back) and a coordinated upper body. Leg strength comes from running and exercises like knee bends and lunges. Of course your ab work can be crunches and twists and as a change, chopping wood will strengthen your entire upper body and add power to your spikes.

Some good exercises to help you improve in volleyball would be running to improve your lung capacity so you do not tire during the game. You should strengthen your leg muscles to improve your jumping ability for greater height in spiking. You should use exercises that strengthen your arms to develop upper body strength ( pushups ).

I would recommend doing squats and leg extensions and presses (lower body), and shoulder press and bench press for your upper body.
