No. You should only adopt a cat if you want a pet and are willing to take care of it. If pest control is what you are after, the cats themselves may contribute to problems like fleas and fecal matter disposal. Get a cat to love, get traps for mice.

Cats are very good at keeping the mice population down. If you spay or neuter the cat and if you take good care of the cat then it's perfectly fine.

To be honest is just an idea. And you will have bring in a cat that has killed mouse before. I have a cat and once we had a mouse trouble but my cat did not even bother to try to catch that mouse.
