Is it okay to install new electric wires outside of an old building?

You can install new wire if you follow current NEC codes and create a separate circuit for the wires to run on. Using EMC conduit will be necessary in most commercial aspects. Tapping into old wiring to build on to an existing circuit can create a fire hazard, and is not recommended.

It can be done, but only by a licensed electrician. He may have to make arrangements for permits and inspection of the work as well.

Well, yes it is but for this work you need to have a license and also all electrical wiring must be aligned.

Refer to the NEC/National-Electrical-Code, Wires generally require physical-protection from accidental-contact with people or structures. Most-electricians would install conduit outside your-building and pull your-wires through it, or they could use direct-burial-cable excavated sufficiently-deep or concrete/masonry-protected.

Yes, but the wires wil have to be secure and the circuts in the building should also be replaced. They should be placed in a weather protectent tube also.

It is only ok if you install the wires according to applicable N.E.C. (National Electric Code), federal, state and local building codes.

It depends on the building status.You may have to consolidate the building so that it will not destroy the new wires.

No, It is pointless to fix new electric wires outside and old building before repairing it.First the old parts be repaired and then install new wiring.

Electric wires are good due to guaranteed effectiveness and safety. Outside an old building would therefore be alright if one would not mind the appearance.
