Can you help me with wiring my thermostat that has six wires?

Were all 6 wires hooked up to start with? If it's AC, probably not. If it's a heat pump, probably so. Before disconnecting the wires, you should have labeled the connections. The colors aren't important, the wires should have hooked back to the same letters on the new thermostat. If you didn't label them, you will need a schematic.

If you have these types of wires then you will need 3 to get to each one. You will need to have three go to one and three go to the other.
