It can be, depending on the type of surgery. A total knee will as the appliance is hammered into the tib/fib and this causes pain for months after wards, especially arthritic type pain. Any pain following surgery is normal, however should be discussed with a physician to ensure it is not an infection or other complication.

Yes, this can be totally normal. You have to understand that when you have surgery the parts around the area which was operated on can be affected as well.

A small amount of tibia pain is not unusual shortly after knee surgery. If the pain worsens, or persists, contact your doctor.
