Is a good gym exercise a hula hoop?

I love to hula hoop and was hoping it was good for me.

Hula hooping is extremely good for you in many ways! First of all, it works your core. You've got to stay stable and centered, or obviously, the hula hoop falls off of you. It's also great for your quads as you've got to be ready to compensate for a stray hula or two!

Using a hula hoop is a great form of exercise. It provides a good cardiovascular workout and strengthens muscle groups in the abdomen, back, buttox, and leg areas. Pretty much any activity that gets you moving has health benefits. This can be anything from vacuuming your house to doing push ups. While hula hoop-ing may not be as physically challenging as some other forms of exercize, it is definitely something that will be good for you to do both for fun and as a workout.

Yes, it could be a good exercise, for example for losing weight. For that, do it at maximum speed for 2 minutes, than rest, then repeat again for about 1 hour. However, it is not universal: it does not make you work out all the muscles. You have to add some other exercise for the other parts of your body.
