Is bike riding a good cardio exercise?

I need suggestions on good low impact exercises.

Bike riding is an excellent cardio exercise. There is very little impact on your shins and it helps improve flexibility in your knees. It gives a good cardio workout.

Biking is a great cardio exercise, but the impact depends on the condition of your knees. If your knees are in good shape, then you will be fine. Otherwise, you will have a problem due to the constant bend. There is also the matter of finding a perfect seat because not all butts are the same.

Yes, if you ride your bike at a hard effort level it should get your hear rate up to a level that will benefit you on a cardiovascular level. You would have to ride your bike for a good forty five to sixty minutes to get a good cardio workout in though.

Yes actually you can burn quite a bit of calories every hour riding a bike. I would suggest you buy a mountain bike and ride it on the lowest gear (Pedals fast) as fast as you can, this will work just like running. When you get tired you can slow down until your heart rate returns to normal.
